Established in 1873, the Société Jersiaise’s mission is to facilitate research on the Island’s history, culture, language and environment, and to share that knowledge with the widest possible audience for the benefit of our Island community.
We Are Seeking Submissions for the 2027 Bulletin
The Société Jersiaise invites submissions for the 2027 Bulletin.
The Annual Bulletin publishes scholarly, original articles on subjects that reflect the aims of the Société Jersiaise. Ideally, submissions will draw upon the rich catalogue of research collections, sections and departments held across the Société. The Jersey Archive is also an excellent source of primary material.
Topics may include (but are not limited to):
• History
• Archaeology
• La Langue Jèrriaise
• Architecture
• Environment
• Ornithology
• Marine Biology
• Entomology
• Geology
• Meteorology
• Mycology
• Zoology
• Bibliography
• Botany
Submission Categories
Submissions may vary in breadth and depth:
Review Summary
750-850 words
Article
2,000-4,000 words
Study
4,000-6,000 words
Submission Requirements
Manuscripts are accepted in formal British English or French.
All submissions must include:
✓ An abstract in English (articles and studies)
✓ In-text citations
✓ A complete bibliography
Please note that word limits include footnotes and references.
Images, Maps and Tables
Illustrations, maps, tables and captions must be supplied separately.
Should your work be accepted for publication, publication-quality images will be required, together with evidence of permission from copyright holders, or from the owners of un-copyrighted images.
