The Société Jersiaise exists to promote the study of Jersey’s archaeology, history, natural history, the ancient language, and the conservation of the environment. Since 1873, we have cared for some of the Island’s most treasured prehistoric sites, safeguarded unique collections, and shared knowledge with the community.
Many of Jersey’s prehistoric sites are owned by the Société and remain free for visitors to enjoy. We also own many of the items displayed in Jersey’s museums, and our Lord Coutanche Library and Photographic Archive are essential resources for local history, research, and cultural discovery.
