The AFP Section was established in November 2025, encouraged by the growing community of artists, filmmakers and photographers in Jersey.
The AFP Section focuses on the Visual Arts: fine art, lens-based media and the moving image. We welcome everyone interested in articulating the experience of living in Jersey through the visual arts to get involved. We aim to create a living history that we can collectively contribute to and leave for future generations, whilst learning from and acknowledging the past.
From historical paintings to cutting-edge visual imaging, we aim to draw on the past whilst embracing the present. Visual imagery is humanity’s most fundamental and ancient means of communication: a visual sharing of thoughts, ideas, identity and experience. Before language and writing, visual images were our means of communication and that primacy continues to the present day.
The AFP Section aims to provide networking and creative professional development opportunities, and encourage skills sharing and interactions with Société Jersiaise activities and collections. The AFP Section is planning a dynamic programme of events, workshops, talks, collaborative projects and exhibitions for 2026 and beyond. We welcome collaborations, ideas and creative development.
