February 2026 – Botany Section

Our Bryophyte walk yesterday went very well.  We had about 20 people turn up, Lyn Jones led the walk.  In the car park we found Funaria hygrometrica Bonfire Moss.  We walked up the lane Rue de la Solitude where there was a good range of different mosses very easy to see along the roadside. These included Atricum undulatum Common Smoothcap,  Psuedoscleropodium purum Neat Feather-moss and Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus Springy Turf Moss.

Clockwise: Atricum undulatum Comon Smoothcap, Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus Springy Turf Moss, Psuedoscleropodium purum Neat Feather-moss & Funaria hygrometrica Bonfire Moss
