The Marine Biology Section (MBS) require that all creatures be treated with respect and that experienced individuals are available to enforce/provide guidance on best practices for animal welfare.

The MBS undertakes outings and events and to ensure the welfare of all creatures it has produced this policy document, working guides and procedures as listed below. Documents can be provided on request.
- Purpose
To ensure that no creature is harmed or made to suffer during any event or outing.
- Policy
The MBS require that all individuals interacting with marine creatures must treat them with utmost respect and are not to do anything that will cause them to suffer pain. The marine environment must also be treated with utmost respect. Events and outings require the supervision of experienced individuals to ensure that this Policy is upheld.
