Recognition at 2025 Council of Europe Cultural Route’s Forum

Hervé Duval-Gatignol is delighted to share some exceptional news that reflects the strength, creativity, and dedication of the Société Jersiaise’s Archaeology Department.

During the 14th Annual Advisory Forum of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (Cappadocia, Turkey, 22–24 October 2025), the Megalithic Routes network nominated the Société Jersiaise’s joint programme with Jersey Heritage “100 Years of La Hougue Bie” as a best‑practice example.

The programme, which featured a poetry call‑out, on‑site activities, guided tours, and the contemporary music installation Lithophilia, has been awarded 2nd place for best practice across the entire Cultural Routes’ network for 2025.

Hervé considers this recognition a meaningful acknowledgment of the department’s work at a European level. It highlights the cultural significance of La Hougue Bie and celebrates the commitment, expertise, and enthusiasm that members bring to the preservation and interpretation of Jersey’s archaeological heritage.

He extends his sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this programme.
