“Despite the threat of rain we set out yesterday evening to search for Asparagus prostrata Wild Asparagus, and just as we were admiring the first large clump we found hidden in the Marram the rain started. However we continued searching and were rewarded with 8, I think, plants of Wild Asparagus. Many thanks to the hardy bunch of botanists who continued searching to find all these plants in the rain. Tim has recorded the sites using differential GPS, we now have about 20 sites altogether, 8 in the main site to the north of Le Carriere car park, 2 plants inland on the dunes and one plant by the Desalination Plant. I suspect there are more to find. The good news is that there are male and female plants and some of the female plants have some berries on them”
