The Société Jersiaise is delighted to announce that Hannah Le Morvan has been awarded the 2026 Nigel Quérée Environment Award in recognition of her outstanding research into bat behaviour in Jersey.
Hannah’s project investigated how different bat species use habitats across the Island throughout the year. By deploying acoustic monitoring equipment at sites around Jersey, she was able to collect valuable data on bat activity across multiple seasons, helping to build a much clearer picture of these important but often overlooked mammals.
Her research is expected to contribute to future conservation efforts by identifying the habitats and times of year that are most important for Jersey’s bat populations.
