Mary Flowa Houldsworth gave a talk on 19th May to a busy room.  The theme of her talk being about the two boys known as ‘The Princes in the Tower’.

Since the discover of Richard III’s remains in a Leicestershire car park Philippa Langley of the Richard III Society has been putting her energy into finding out what happened to the two princes.  Richard III received a bad press after he was killed at the Battle of Bosworth Field and Henry VII took the throne.  It is now evidenced that he was not a hunchback, so what else was a lie?

Were the princes murdered in the Tower as supposed?  Philippa put the word out and in a short time had researchers here and on the continent bringing forth evidence that the princes were removed separately from the Tower, and secreted away in different directions.  There was no Lambert Simnel or Perkin Warbeck, as the Pretenders were named by Henry VII as a smoke screen.  They were Edward V and Richard III of York, sons of Edward IV that had been declared illegitimate by the Council and re-titled Bastard Lords.  They were never declared dead at the time, their souls were never prayed for, and they were known by many to be alive.

So where were they, what were they doing, and how were they connected with Jersey?  Flowa covered all this in her talk, and to find out now you can read the book by Philippa Langley, The Princes in the Tower.

Flowa is an associate of Philippa’s and a member of the Richard III Society.
