The Jersey International Centre of Advanced Studies (JICAS) is a postgraduate research centre that focuses on islands and island communities. Our flagship programme is an MSc Island Biodiversity and Conservation in partnership with BioSciences, University of Exeter.

As part of our relocation to the Societe Jersiaise, JICAS would like to invite Societe members to audit two of the taught modules from this programme, including:

  • Island Biogeography with Professor Robert Whittaker, University of Oxford

(Monday, 3 – Friday, 7 November 2025, 930am – 4pm)

  • Islands and Climate Change with Professor Stefano Moncada, Institute of Small States and Islands, University of Malta

(Monday, 23 – Friday, 27 March 2026, 930am – 4pm)

There is no perquisite of knowledge required, and there is no associated cost for attending the lectures.

Anyone interested in auditing these modules, pls contact JICAS director Dr Sean Dettman
