On Saturday 13 June 2026, Jersey welcomed the return of La Fête Nouormande for the first time since 2017. The festival brought together speakers and enthusiasts of Jèrriais, Guernésiais and other Norman language varieties for a day of stories, poetry, music and traditional dance.

Members of our Jèrriais Section were delighted to take part in the celebrations, helping to showcase Jersey’s unique Norman language through readings, performances and conversations with visitors. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to share our language and culture with both fluent speakers and those discovering Jèrriais for the first time.

The festival highlighted the richness and diversity of Norman heritage, bringing together communities from across the Norman-speaking world in a spirit of friendship and cultural exchange.

We would like to thank all the organisers, performers and attendees who made the day such a memorable celebration of Norman language and culture.
