On several days in mid-May thunder clouds – Cumulonimbus – developed over Normandy.  They only moved slowly towards Jersey and made an impressive sight from a distance.

Satellite images showed this mature example, with a fine anvil, was about 60 km to our southeast near Granville. It is seen here from the orchid field in St Ouen.
