In December 2024, the Librarian met with fellow library and information professionals from across Jersey at a meeting organised by Ed Jewell, Chief Librarian at Jersey Library. The aim was to create a network to support those working in library and information settings on the Island.

The Jersey Library Network seeks to provide:
• Opportunities for professional development and learning across public, academic, school and special libraries
• Shared support to address professional and operational issues
• Coordination of promotional and service development activities

In April, the network members were welcomed at the Lord Coutanche Library, by the Librarian, Valérie Noël. The Librarians had the opportunity to explore the library’s collections and tour the Archives room. They also gained insights into the work of the Société Jersiaise and how the library supports its efforts.
Following the visit, the members of the network gathered in the Members’ room, where they enjoyed a selection of cakes served with tea and coffee.
