We are delighted to announce that the Société Jersiaise is now a Registered Organisation of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) for the 2026–2029 registration period.
This is an important milestone for our Field Archaeology Department, recognising the professional standards and archaeological expertise that have been developed within the Société Jersiaise over many years.
As a Registered Organisation, we are now part of an international community of organisations committed to maintaining high professional standards in archaeological research and the protection of heritage. This accreditation represents an important step in the continued development of the archaeological research being led in Jersey and strengthens our ability to undertake, coordinate and share the results of that work both locally and internationally.
The achievement reflects the dedication, professionalism and commitment of those involved in archaeological research and heritage work across the Society. It also highlights the important role that the Société Jersiaise continues to play in advancing knowledge and understanding of Jersey’s rich archaeological heritage.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who has contributed to the work of the Field Archaeology Department and to the Société Jersiaise over the years, especially the Members of the Archaeology Section. This achievement would not have been possible without their dedication, expertise and ongoing support.
We look forward to building on this recognition and continuing to promote high-quality archaeological research and heritage protection for the benefit of Jersey and beyond.
