Numismatics & Heritage Education Update

February was a lively month for the Numismatics section as we supported the 2nd Scout Troop with the third part of their Money Badge. The session explored the cost of basic food items across three periods — the Middle Ages, Victorian times, and the present day — giving the Scouts a fascinating look at how everyday life has changed over time.

Alongside the Heritage Education team, we also delivered three talks to school classes on the Celts and Romans. These sessions introduced pupils to the distinct coinage of each culture and helped them understand how currency can reveal so much about a society’s values, technology, and identity.
