Our first meeting of the year was spent discussing plans for the year ahead. On February 9th we meet in the Arthur Mourant room at 2,30pm to see Jennifer Rendell’s pictures of her visit to the Chelsea Physic Garden. Pat Jackson will give an historic outline and Anna Bradstock, who worked there, will add valuable extra information. This garden is host to herbal plants plus others from around the world, and grown for medicinal and other uses. Many of this sort of plant have been chosen for Hamptonne’s herb garden.

Garden History have handed into the SJ library back copies of the newsletters to supplement the incomplete range held there. These were obtained from the late Mayda Reynolds.

We have also acquired these pamphlets:  Royal Liver Friendly Society meeting at West Park Pavilion 1938;  A Bill to modify the Constitution of the Royal Court 1918;  Law of Public Health 1934;  SJ La Cotte De Saint-Brelade 1881-1981;  Short Account of Archaeology in Jersey 1979;  An Introduction to the Archaeology of Jersey 1984;  old Forum programmes from around 1935. If anyone would like to own these, we’d like them to go to a good home.
