Daveluy Prize 2022

Organized by the Centre d’Enseignement Supérieur de la Marine (CESM), the Amiral Daveluy Maritime Strategy Prize rewards, since 1994, the best academic work focusing on maritime or naval issues to promote the French Navy in the academic and scientific environment.

Hervé Duval (Field Archaeologist, Société Jersiaise) was awarded the Congratulations by the Jury of the Prize for his thesis on the coastal and insular fortified sites of the Channel-Atlantic coast of Europe from the First millennium BCE. It was carried out in the Archéosciences CReAAH laboratory, UMR 6566, University of Rennes 1, and defended in 2020.

The awards ceremony took place on Monday, December 12, 2022, in Paris, at the military school in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the French Navy.
